I have reflected on my coaching experience with Steve many times. The funny thing is I never felt like I needed coaching, I’ve always been in control, I was the one who supported others and (in my opinion) I was high performing. Asking for help just wasn’t my thing.
Steve’s approach and coaching manner is relaxed and his experience both as a business founder and family man meant that when he challenged my preconceptions he was able to do so with credibility, this put me at ease and made me feel confident enough to share my issues and accept some areas in which I had the potential to act differently. What I really liked about the experience was the balance between challenge and acceptance. The sessions didn’t have a hidden agenda, it was simply time to explore alternatives, think deeper about certain issues and ultimately seek to find and fix some log jams which until that point had been holding me back.
I now feel more confident to accept help from others when it is offered. I see that as a strength not a weakness and understand that without Steve’s coaching I’d still be holding myself back. Thank you Steve and 9 Dots Coaching for unlocking a hidden potential in me and for improving both my business productivity and my personal relationships with others.
